India’s internet consumption rose by 13% since the nationwide lockdown was put in place to check the spread of Covid-19, according to telecom ministry data. The change reflected how people consumed more and more of digital content. It is true that due to the lockdown and the economic slowdown, marketing budgets are being slashed and clients have begun to conserve their cash. However Internet hits have surged and the brands need to carefully define their digital strategy and focus on the bigger picture and long term goals. It has become essential for brands to track changing consumer behaviour in this situation. After the outbreak, their interest in products or services, or their expectations from the brands have changed, and brands need to rework their digital marketing strategy accordingly to suit the changing needs. Moving on to new product launches, the only audience available right now is through a digital Marketing, so it is imperative to work out new and interesting digital methods. It is also necessary to go for responsible marketing. These testing times are not exactly correct to push your product to the consumers, so the tone of your marketing needs to be the right one.
